Through a soccer match, the MKLM Youth Desk collaborates with the Department of Correctional Services, Mogwase, on one of the rehabilitation programs.
The Moses Kotane Local Municipality Youth Desk, led by Mayor Cllr Nketu Nkotswe and its chairperson Cllr Fortune Luvuno, launched a program named “Restoring Hope” in partnership with the Department of Correctional Services Mogwase and offered ongoing encouragement for acting morally.
In his introductory remarks, Correctional Officer Mr. Mogopudi emphasized the importance of collaboration amongst stakeholders in fostering the community development of Mogwase inmates through sports and recreation programs that are designed to help them successfully reintegrate into society.
Cllr Fortune Luvono, the chairperson of the youth desk, underlined the necessity for Moses Kotane local municipality to embark on programs that promote rehabilitation among the inmates who are also community members.
Cllr. Nketu Nkotswe, the Mayor, stressed that this program will not only help the inmates but also create an inclusive environment where they may demonstrate their abilities, grow as individuals, and reintegrate into society after being released.
