The Budget and Treasury department is the anchor office of the Municipality as it provides support to all departments of the Municipality.

The primary role is dealing with the management of a municipal’s funds and ensuring financial sustainability for the institution.The unit prepares strategic, credible and sustainable budget as required by the legislation. The main tasks include the following:

** Development of plans, strategies, policies
** Budgetary processes for the Municipality and the Department
** Management of Human Capital
** Bank account administration
** Cash Management and Investments; long term debt
** Administrative support to the MM in relation to preparation and implementation of municipal budget.
