JOC Update

Department of Education
The department of education has reported that schools are ready for the re-opening on Monday the 08th June 2020. Ms Masipa presented the report for the department of education, and highlighted that PPE’s, scanners and sanitizers have been distributed to schools. That Amandebuilt Mine has donated 5000 face masks to schools. The department has hired 2 screeners and 2 cleaners for every school for a period of 10 months. Department has conducted the training for scholar transport drivers who are contracted to the department.

Department of Social Development
The department is currently conducting profiling of qualifying beneficiaries for social relief support, the profiling has been conducted in the following areas

  • Baphalane Ba- Ramokoka 120
  • Bakgatla Ba- Kgafela
    31 Monono and 425 Sefikile
  • Baphalane Ba-Mantserre still in progress
  • Madikwe – 180
  • Sebilong – Not yet started
    Total number of food parcels to be distributed- 756

SASSA
SASSA has reported that 65% of its staff are back at work and have 10 volunteers who will assist with the application of the R350.00 social relief of distress grants.
