Mogwase, 09 December — The Moses Kotane Local Municipality (MKLM), in partnership with the Regopoleng Elderly Club, brought festive joy to local elderly beneficiaries through a heartwarming Christmas gift-giving event held at the Mayor’s Chamber.
The Office of the Mayor continues to believe in making a meaningful difference by collaborating with changemakers, faith-based organisations, and elderly clubs to positively impact communities across the municipality.
Pastor Makwaza opened the programme with a prayer, setting a warm and spiritual tone, and highlighting that faith-based organisations play a crucial role in sustainable community development.
The Office of the Mayor reaffirmed its commitment to forging strong partnerships that uplift the most vulnerable members of society.
Regopoleng Elderly Club Chairperson, Mr. Leoko Joseph Mangwegape, together with club member Ms. Koti Hlatshwayo, led the handover of gifts to the elderly beneficiaries — spreading smiles, gratitude, and festive cheer.
A vote of thanks was delivered by Rev. Cinga, followed by a closing prayer from Pastor Maxwell. Attendees were left feeling inspired by the spirit of giving and the strength of community partnership — not only during the festive season, but as an ongoing act of love and service.
This initiative demonstrated how collaboration between local government, faith-based groups, and community organisations can truly make a real difference in the lives of those in need.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive”. And as we celebrate this impactful moment, we are encouraged to remember: Do not despise small beginnings, for small acts of kindness create a ripple of hope and transformation.
