LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME FOCUSING ON MORE THAN 200 LOCAL PEOPLE

The Moses Kotane Local Municipality through the LED Department & Youth Desk, in collaboration with the Department of Employment & Labour and Task Alfa Group, formally launched a learnership programme focusing on more than 200 local people’s skills development.
Mogwase Unit 1: Cllr Mpho Raboroko , the Master of Ceremonies led the skills development initiative program on behalf of the youth desk chairperson, Cllr Fortune Luvuno, who attended to other work commitments.
The municipal LED, Department of Labor and Task Alfa Group
co-facilitated the Learnerships programme, which aim to empower young people by bridging the gap between education and the workforce, offering practical training and experience, and ultimately improving employability.
This cohort will see the completion of this approved learning curriculum in plumbing, building, and electrical as part of their long focus on youth development.This skills program, which will give young people both practical knowledge and qualifications from the host Moses Kotane local municipality, has been officially endorsed by the necessary SETAs.
Cllr Itumeleng Sekobane on behalf of the MMC for Local Economic Development, Cllr Caroline Motshabi praised the initiative and expressed delight in seeing such important programs implemented to develop our local population. Such collaboration are necessary to fight youth unemployment and give local communities hope again
Youths from several Moses Kotane Local Municipality clusters were cordially welcomed by Acting Mayor Cllr. Dithothi Tshetlhane, who also urged them to fully commit to the program, finish their assignments, and pass their POEs in order to be eligible.
