Moses Kotane Local Municipality is strengthening its capacity-building efforts and long-term vision of internal control, effective and efficient public financial management through continuous employee development. This includes the successful graduation of finance officials who have now completed the Municipal Finance Management Programme (MFMP), an NQF Level 6 qualification.
On 4 December, nine officials from MKLM proudly graduated after completing the MFMP. The celebratory ceremony was attended by the Chief Financial Officer, Director: Corporate Support Services, and the Manager for Skills Development, Training Unit — reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to capacitating its workforce as part of sustainability, enhanced service delivery, revenue generation, and improved audit outcomes.
This milestone reflects MKLM’s unwavering dedication to investing in its people as a strategic pillar for improved governance and service delivery. By empowering employees through accredited programmes like the MFMP, the municipality continues to build internal capacity to strengthen financial management, enhance accountability, and support sustainable local development.
This achievement is not only a personal milestone for the nine graduating officials but also a demonstration of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent, equipping its workforce with critical competencies, and driving institutional excellence.
With these newly skilled and qualified officials now better prepared to navigate complex financial management environments, MKLM reinforces its belief that an empowered workforce creates empowered communities.
