The Moses Kotane Local Municipality recently hosted the District Thuntsha Lerole Phase 5 Accelerated Service Delivery Programme in Mogwase.
Phase 5 Thuntsha Lerole accelerated service delivery programe aims to address critical service delivery challenges by integrating various government departments and stakeholders to provide essential services directly to communities. Additionally, acknowledge the need for job creation as well as completion of service delivery projects.
Infrastructure Development and Oversight
A significant focus of the yesterday Thuntsha Lerole programme was on improving road infrastructure. Efforts included patching potholes and upgrading gravel roads to enhance accessibility. These developments are part of broader infrastructure projects across the province, with substantial investments allocated to road construction and maintenance.
Water and Sanitation Interventions
Addressing water scarcity and sanitation issues remains a priority for Government. The programme has emphasized several projects aimed at improving water supply and sanitation facilities, including the construction of new pipelines and the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure.
Waste Management and Environmental Clean-Up
Illegal dumping has been a persistent problem, The Thuntsha Lerole initiative has implemented intensified litter picking and waste collection programmes targeting illegal dumping sites. Community members are also encouraged to actively involved in these clean-up campaigns, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility towards maintaining a clean environment.
Social Support and Community Engagement
Food parcels have been distributed to vulnerable households which were previously profiled.

Community engagement has been central to the programme’s as the government believes in active citizenry in matters of governance.

Various government sectors were onsite for the integrated service delivery to the local residents. This holistic approach underscores the government’s commitment to delivering comprehensive services to the people.
This district programme was led by the MKLM Mayor Cllr. Nketu Nkotswe, Speaker Cllr. Maria Matshaba, Singlewhip Cllr Lucky Moate, Bojanala Platinum District Municipality (BPDM) Acting Mayor Cllr.
