<p>Mpac roadshow on 2020/2021 Annual Report continues at Kraalhoek. On the 07th March 2022, The Municipal Public accounts commitee chaired by Cllr Nono Matshereng continued with its Public Participation roadshow targeting Ward 5, 6, 7, 8, 29, 34 to consider the Annual Report for financial year 2020/ 2021. <br> The Municipal Public Accounts Committee with its objective exercise oversight over functionaries of council and to ensure good governance in the municipality. The oversight over municipal entities is one of the pre-requisites to heighten accountability and improve the financial & performance management.</p>

<p>The funeral service of the late Cllr Ranko Motlhaga was held today at Moruleng.<br>
Family, friends and colleagues came to pay their last respect to the late PR councilor of Moses Kotane Local Municipality. </p>



<p>Amongst the dignitaries that attended the funeral were, Kgosi Nyalala Pilane, Mayor of Moses Kotane Local Municipality Cllr Ralesole Diale, Acting Speaker Cllr Lucky Moate ,The Municipal Manager Mr Mokopane Letsoalo, Acting Director for corporate services Director Mr Segale Kotsedi, Single Whip Cllr Maria Matshaba, MPAC chairperson Cllr Thomas Manganye,MMC for Infrastructure and Technical Services Cllr Bushy Manganye, MMC for LED Cllr Nketu Nkotswe, MMC for finance Cllr Lawrence Kapari, Cllr Phadie Nqothula, Cllr Radiokana and Cllr Neo Ruele. </p>



<p>During the time of his death, Cllr Motlhaga served as a PR councilor from AIC political party.He was also a member of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC). </p>



<p>People who were speaking at the funeral,his family and friends, described him as someone who was passionate about development in his community, and as someone who loved education . He was also described as someone who was proud of his culture and heritage.</p>



<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow"><p>Mayor Cllr Ralesole Diale said, “To the family, friends and the entire community of MKLM, this is not a loss only to the family as the MKLM we also lost someone who was dedicated to his work, in the MPAC committee. We are deeply sending our sincere condolences to his children and entire family of Motlhaga. </p></blockquote>



<p>Kgosi Pilane, remarks, said that he was a very proud Mokgatla and very proud of his people, he wanted to see development in our area. He was an exceptional father who raised and educated his children. Let’s thank God for his life.</p>

<p>Mogwase- On the 01st July 2020,  MKLM re-absorbsed 14 Traffic officers /law enforcement through a 12 month EPWP program. </p>



<p>The program is going to run for 12 months period and will end July 2021.</p>



<p>Chief Traffic Mr Molwantoa stated that, the primary role of re-absorbtion is to ensure that there is enough manpower so that MKLM by-laws are implemented. </p>



<ul><li>ensure that there is compliance in revenue enhancement. </li><li>compliance on law enforcement visibility. <br>
-They will also enhance the capacity and performance of the Traffic unit. <br>
They will work hand in hand with traffic officers who will monitor and supervise them on daily basis.</li></ul>



<p>Chief Traffic Mr Molantoa concluded by urging them to stay focused, work hard and stay away from corruption, because it will destroy them and their reputations and impact negatively on the brand and image of the municipality.</p>



<p>Head of Department for LED Ms Ridah Madikela welcomed the traffic officers and stated that the EPWP is a government initiative aimed at poverty alleviation by providing short to medium term work opportunities to the poor and unemployed people. With this program, it will ease the burden of high rate of unemployment within Moses Kotane. </p>



<p>Director of LED Ms Madikela concluded by  encouraging traffic officers  to work hard and take the opportunity with both hands.</p>
