OBJECTIVES OF OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER:-

·         To ensure the effective management of Council meetings;

·         Creating an enabling environment for efficient / quality participation of all councillors in the decision making process;

·         Identification and implementation of administrative and capacity building of councilors and ward committees;

·         Ensuring that ward committees operate effectively as links between community and municipality;

·         Monitor and report on adherence to legislation and code of conduct;

·         To promote active involvement of the community in the decision-making processes of the municipality (public participation);

·         To ensure the effective management and use of CDWs to improve linkages with the community and service delivery;
